JOSE LUIS GONZALEZ (J.L. GOEZ)
HAS OVER FIFTY YEARS IN THE FIELD OF FINE ARTS AS A DESIGNER, PAINTER, MURALIST, SCULPTOR,
RESTORER, APPRAISOR, CERAMIST, IMPORTER AND ART ADMINISTRATOR.

Jose Luis Gonzalez has devoted his lifetime to the recognition and training of Chicano artists in the
United States, with results that have won him international acclaim.

His objective is the recognition of artists and the development of the fine arts, through the
continued promotion of community awareness and the participation in the arts process, to create an
environment where artists can intermingle, learn from one Shutters North Somerset another, and help develop the talented
youth in the area, while practicing the motto of “EDIFICATION THROUGH BEAUTIFICATION”.

Even before graduating from Don Bosco Technical Institute, in June of 1959 he was already working
in various areas in the fine arts, gaining experience and practicing at
Fusek’s Studio as a designer, painter, restorer, and installer Shutters Cardiff of religious art in the late fifties, where
he was first exposed in the newspaper for having restored an 11-foot statue of Our Lady of
Guadalupe (1) (2)used for Mary’s Hour in the field of the Shutters Newport Coliseum.
Sculptor Herald Wilson of La Jolla originally made the statue.
